Social Connection Is Critical

Social connection, why is it so important?
Physical distancing vs. social distancing, what’s the difference?
Let me explain.

I read an article recently that discussed how the terminology of how we should distance ourselves from one another during the pandemic was modified from “social distancing” to “physical distancing”.

The article describes how we can stay connected during this time  of Covid-19.  As individuals and as companies, we have had to get creative in terms of how we can connect, interact, have fun, send love and “see” each other over the year. We need to figure out how to move forward in a healthy way to be effective in our day to day lives.

There is a proven correlation between social connection and mental health!

Social connection can be a blast

In my opinion, the way we are going to get through this is with the power of social connection. As social creatures, we thrive in the company of others. For an individual, human connection and interaction brings about increased self-esteem, a greater sense of belonging, increased confidence, lower rates of anxiety, depression and an increased quality of life.

At the office, social connection and social interaction in teams drives collaboration, encourages striving for something bigger than ourselves and boosts productivity and morale.

So, even though most of the ways we are used to connecting cannot happen for the time being, the purpose and motivation stay the same. We have just needed to shift and reimagine the HOW.

Vine and Vintage Answers the HOW

For many years now, I’ve understood the beauty of authentic human connection and the significant impact it can have on each of us as individuals.

I was fortunate to discover my calling and the ability I had to connect others, through my passion and knowledge of wine, love for food and creative ideas for fun interaction. This led to the creation of Vine & Vintage and what it has become over its 3.5 year life span.

The intention of our pivot during the pandemic aims to harvest the greater social connection between people.  Our solution

  • speaks to a need for people not to feel alone through this.
  • provides simple and yet meaningful ways of receiving love, appreciation, indulgence and connection – even though we aren’t physically together.
  • combats an era where even amidst the panic, stress, uncertainty and hate, there is still a lot of love available and many avenues to spread it around.

Our goal for 2021 is to continue to provide exceptional service, high-end products, fun and interactive virtual tastings, and, to continue making sure we can spread the love and well-being to as many people as possible.

Let’s discuss what Vine and Vintage can do for you
